Arizona looses 9th Circuit court voter identification requirement
With the midterm elections just days away, the 9th Circuit court ruled against Arizona and took away the state’s ability to request proof of citizenship identification when residents are registering to vote. The state wanted to curtail voter fraud and ensure residents who were voting for state and federal elections were legally doing so.
The U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals stuck down a simple voter protection requirement of identification that won approval from Arizona residents in the form of Proposition 200.
The Ninth Circuit ruling on proof of citizenship decision came from a three-judge panel that vote 2-1 against Arizona’s right to inquire about citizenship. The three judges, that included former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, ruled the federal and state laws conflicted and federal law requires all states to make voter registration widely available and remove as many obstacles as possible.

A Federal District Court judge ruled Friday that one of the main lawsuits seeking to overturn Arizona's new immigration law could go forward, despite efforts by Gov. Jan Brewer and several sheriffs to have the suit thrown out. But the judge, Susan R. SAN ANTONIO – A federal program that automatically checks the immigration status of arrested people has gone statewide in Texas.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced Wednesday that the fingerprint-sharing program Secure Communities has been activated in all 254 counties in Texas as of this week. Many local jail bookings have used the program for years
ICE says the program has led to more than 41,000 deportations of illegal immigrants nationwide. Critics say the program makes people fearful of reporting crimes and does not protect against racial profiling.

SENATE CLOTURE VOTE FAILS
Thanks for all of your hard work in making phone calls and sending faxes the last 8 days.
The Senate just failed by a count of 56-43 to approve cloture, which would have allowed debate to begin on a Defense bill that Senate leaders hoped would include the DREAM Act amnesty.
Because it takes 60 votes for cloture, the Defense bill had to be pulled.
The insistence of Senate Majority Leader Reid (D-Nev.) in using the Defense bill as a vehicle for the amnesty was one of the key reasons why Republicans refused to allow debate on the bill.
Every Republican (except Sen. Murkowski of Alaska who was absent) voted NO.
Sen. Pryor of Arkansas looked to be the sole Democrat who would vote against Reid but, in the end, his fellow Arkansas Democrat Sen. Lincoln also voted NO.
It would be unfair to infer that every Democrat voting YES to start debate supports the DREAM amnesty. We know that on a direct up or down on the amnesty, many of the Democrats would have voted NO. But this opening cloture vote was one that pushed Democrats to show Party loyalty to just start the debate.
I really believe that many of you are in states where you had persuaded your Democratic Senator to vote NO on the DREAM amnesty amendment itself. Good work, all of you.

The amnesty threat has receded for the moment, although Sen. Reid promised he would bring the DREAM amnesty back up for a vote later this year. I'll talk later about that possibility.

When I ask my American friends about the proliferation of Islam in America, the typical response is that everything will work out just fine in America because America allows room for practice of all religions and all beliefs. Some even quote their Muslim friends who are adept at refuting the skeptics. Americans have become apologists for Islam without knowing the important facts about Islamic religious beliefs and practices, particularly the practice of taqiya.
Lying is allowed, as stated in Islamic doctrine, when a believer (Muslim) is speaking to a non-believer (non-Muslim) for the purpose of achieving his goal, the advancement of Islam. When this convenient tool is utilized by a Muslim in speaking to the non-Muslim, it is especially effective in promoting acceptance of Islam.
Our democracy is at work as we exercise our freedom of speech and assemble in the streets on 9/11 this year to prevent the construction of a mosque at Ground Zero, a symbol of victory commemorating the profound material and psychological damage caused by the enemy of our nation in an attack upon us nine years ago. If the will of the people of New York City combined with the many voices around our country is able to halt this project, then not only is it a testimony to the strength of democracy in America, but, equally as important in defeating this travesty, it becomes the stumbling block to what will be the flagship used in launching the ideological forces aimed at destroying this very process.

Virginia Cracks Down on Drivers Licenses for Illegal Immigrants
Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell is cracking down on immigrants' use of a certain federal document to get state driver's licenses in the wake of a deadly car crash blamed on an immigrant facing deportation.
McDonnell on Tuesday ordered the Department of Motor Vehicles to no longer consider federal employment authorization documents as evidence that a person is in the country legally after it was used by an driver who allegedly was driving drunk this summer and killed a nun, critically injuring two others in her order. The DMV will still accept about 20 other federal documents as proof of legal status.
"We must ensure that documents accepted as proof of legal presence are reliable," McDonnell, a Republican, said in a news release. "Virginia law is clear in the requirement that an individual be lawfully in the United States to be eligible for an identification card or to have the privilege to drive."

LA police move to quell more shooting protests
Three bicycle officers were flagged down Sunday by people concerned about a man wielding a knife. The officers approached the suspect and told him in Spanish and English to put down the weapon.
Instead, Jamines raised the knife above his head and lunged at Officer Frank Hernandez, a 13-year veteran of the department, said Capt. Kris Pitcher, who heads the Los Angeles Police Department's force investigation division.
Hernandez shot Jamines twice in the head. He died at the scene. Several witnesses later told police Jamines had been drinking.

Like others who call this great nation home, I am troubled by the plans to build a mosque next to Ground Zero. As one who immigrated from Sudan, I have plenty of reasons to be.
Let me tell you why. In 1983, the government of Sudan imposed Shariah law on the entire country, including the Christians of southern Sudan. Soon I, a southern Sudanese Christian, began to see the effects, including the confiscation of land, destruction of churches, forced conversion to Islam, raping of women and severing of limbs for violating Shariah's dictates. What stands out is the prison connection.
All four defendants were former inmates. More important, all three imams at the mosque in Newburgh that the defendants attended after being released from prison had a connection with the prison system. Imams Salahuddin Muhammad, Hamin Rashada and Melody Rashada worked for the Department of Correctional Services. All had been hired by Warith Deen Umar -- who for years headed ministerial services for the New York state prison system.

In the opinion of usurper president and U. S. Constitution destroyer Barack H. Obama, there is no legitimacy in any state to seek its own protection from foreign invasion with its concurrent and resultant damage to life, limb and property.
The Preamble to the Constitution lists the requirements of the federal government to our nation’s security. One of those requirements is to “provide for the common defense.” This is one of the responsibilities granted to the federals by the states. If the feds can not or will not ‘provide for the common defense’, it is only reasonable that the state or states will have to do it themselves due to the abdication of responsibility by the federal government.
