Carlstadt, N.J. – An immigration reform group has written letters of rebuke to five New Jersey congressmen for “an incredible ‘no’ vote on Mexican border security,” it was announced today.

The House of Representatives last week passed a bill to prevent the Department of Homeland Security from disclosing information about Minutemen operations to Mexico, except when required by treaty.  The Minutemen Project is a volunteer civilian patrol on the Mexican border reported to have 7,000 members.

The bill, HR 5441, was passed and sent to the Senate after a 293-107 vote, but five of six democrats voted ‘no’ while six republicans voted ‘yes.’

The ‘no’ votes that earned the rebuke from New Jersey Citizens for Immigration Control (NJCIC) were Andrews (D-1st), Pallone (D-6), Pascrell (D-8), Rothman (D-9), and Holt (D-12).  Donald Payne (D-10) did not vote.

NJCIC co-chairs Dr. Gayle Kesselman of Carlstadt and John Rucki of Sayreville wrote, “Our country is being flooded with illegals at enormous cost to taxpayers.  The Minutemen are trying to stem the tide despite our own government reporting their operations to a Mexican government that encourages illegals with instructional brochures.

“For these five congressmen to vote against this bill is incomprehensible.  Come November, we’ll remember.”
